J. Michelle Galek is an interdisciplinary artist in Austin, Texas, specializing in mixed media and acrylic paints. Her current work investigates the intermingling of intellectual rigor, quantitative process, creative freedom, and structural dynamism.

Through a critical engagement with her own thought processes and means of interacting with the world around her, J. Michelle seeks to create art that is tactile in nature — often allowing the viewer to physically touch her work — while simultaneously confronting fundamental questions that may be resolved in the space of her art, whereby new behaviors, thought patterns, and emotional resolve can emerge.
